Fox 32" Barbel Specialist Landing Net

by Adam Roberts

Fox Barbel Landing NetSpec
- This triangle shaped net made for barbel comes complete with a six foot lightweight, strong net pole at a price of £40

I have used this net for two years for both barbel and tench, it is easily big enough for any barbel or tench I have landed. Even bonus carp from the river to over 25lb fit in without problem. The mesh itself is an easy glide fish friendly mesh with small holes and thus far it has not frayed, ripped or pulled and still seems as good as new. The arms of the net are reinforced with a graphite/carbon cross weave on them where they fit in the spreader block. These ends contain a solid plug in to stop them splitting, which is a common problem with some nets. The spreader block is made from a moulded plastic with slots in it so you can see if the arms of the net are properly located. Spare speader blocks are available from Fox dealers for around a fiver. The six foot one piece pole has a non slip coating at the butt end to prevent it slipping from your hands.

All in all its quality piece equipment and I cannot wait for the day I get a barbel that does not fit in it!

Conclusion - All in all its quality piece equipment and I cannot wait for the day I get a barbel that does not fit in it!

Footnote by Matt Brown
- This is another piece of kit I bought after borrowing Adam's net a few times.  I like it because it's stiff and strong, unlike the other nets I'd persevered with previously.  I don't use it for all my barbelling as I prefer a spoon type net for overgrown banks, but it's great for my trips to the Trent, or any static sessions.
